A research professorship is a permanent position; in the first 5 - 10 years research is the main objective (which means that the teaching is limited in that period). After that initial period the position automatically becomes a regular
professorship.
The candidate will strengthen and extend the current research capacity of the Center for Statistics in the field of mathematical statistics. He/she will be part of the team that is responsible for the research in mathematical statistics. Multidisciplinary collaboration and cross-fertilization initiatives with the biostatistics and bioinformatics research in CenStat and in I-BioStat (the Interuniversity Institute of Biostatistics and statistical Bioinformatics (with Hasselt University
and the Catholic University
of Leuven as partners) are expected. Also scientific collaboration at the international level is expected.
Profile
· The candidate has good research potential in mathematical statistics. The research experience is at the level of assistant professor/associate professor. The candidate has a clear vision on and/or experience with
international collaboration.
· The candidate has a clear vision on and/or experience with international collaboration.
· The candidate has a clear vision on and/or experience in the following aspects of academic education: coordination and organization of courses, development of teaching material, and supervision of projects and theses.
· If the language of the candidate is not Dutch, he/she will develop the necessary skills to be fluent in Dutch within a short-term perspective.
