The Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) was created with the
objective of creating a more sustainable future for energy usage, energy
security and consumption, while being economically viable.
This research requires a long-term vision which identifies and confronts the
future challenges in the energy sector. The Institute works in theoretical
and practical research which allows businesses to implement innovative
solutions in short and long term projects.
IREC is located in Sant Adrià del Besòs, Barcelona, SPAIN (www.irec.cat)
Researcher:
Will work on technical research projects in the fields of microgrids,
smartgrids, electric vehicles and renewable energy sources. The tasks to be
carried out will be mainly focused on energy economics and regulation
aspects. Technical tasks involving simulation and emulation of power systems
will also be performed.
This professional must be highly skilled in planning and organizing.
Capacity to work in a team, flexible, innovative, with initiative and
problem solving skills. High level of analytical and synthesis skills.
Qualifications and experience required:
Essential:
Background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic
engineering, control engineering, process engineering, mathematics, and/or
computer science 3 years of research experience
Preferred:
PhD
Relevant experience in the energy sector, especially in microgrids,
smartgrids, electric vehicles and renewable energy sources
Experience with regulatory agencies and policy issues
Language required:
English fluent
Spanish fluent

Salary:
Salaries will be paid in accordance with the IREC’s salary policy, depending
on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
