Postdoctoral Researchers in Mathematics (2 positions) / Faculty of Mathematics and Science

Postdoctoral Researchers (2 positions) for a fixed term of maximum  four years.
Strong preference will be given to candidates whose research interests overlap and/or complement the main research areas of the department.  University lecturers and university researchers are expected to have doctor’s degree, excellent records in conducting scientific research as well as in educating and supervising undergraduate, graduate and PhD students. The candidate's records will be evaluated based on their scientific work, records in directing research programs, teaching experience, pedagogical education, produced teaching material, and/or other records from teaching posts. Teaching skills must be demonstrated by a sample lecture or through equivalent documents. The duties in each post includes reasearch, teaching, and supervision of students.
The postdoctoral researchers are expected to focus on scientific research, but also to participate in teaching within their own areas of expertise. The amount of teaching duties is rather small. The candidates are expected to have doctor’s degree, on suitable areas of research, and relevant teaching skills.
According to Finnish law, a non-native university teaching staff member can be granted an exemption from the requirement of Finnish language proficiency. As the department organizes part of its teaching in English ability to teach in English is credited.
The salary of post-doctoral researchers depends on the qualifications and experience of the nominee and ranges between levels  5-6 ( 2 820,64 EUR/month – 3 293,22 EUR/month). Based on personal performance, these can be supplemented by up to 46.3 %.

  4. A numbered list of all the scholarly and other publications with which the applicant wishes to demonstrate her/his qualifications for the post.
A trial period of four months will be used when the positions are first filled.
