Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University
Medical Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for a four-year
research project. The specific goals of the project are to develop and
validate prognostic and predictive models to predict clinical outcomes;
test for Prentice surrogate criteria; create implementable applications
for final models; develop statistical methodology related to the above
aims; and write manuscripts. There will be an opportunity to work on
biomarker data.
Position Qualifications:
Candidates must have: a PhD degree in statistics or biostatistics;
experience in penalized regression methods and data base manipulation;
and strong programming skills in order to conduct simulation studies and
perform real applications (R/SAS software/programming). Candidate must
have excellent communication skills (verbal written and presentation) a
working knowledge of validation approaches (preferred) and proficiency
in R Linux system and C++. Knowledge for survival models is preferred.
