Biostatistician/Associate Professor (Position #: 03-307-120). University of Maryland, Baltimore


Duties & Responsibilities: In addition to participating in support of four NIH and VA center grants and multiple NIH R01 and VA Merit Award grants, the selected candidate will be expected to conduct independent methodological research in these areas of investigation and to participate in teaching in the graduate program. The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health has six divisions with 48 full-time faculty members. The department is ranked first in NIH funding among departments of its type in public schools of medicine and second among all medical school departments of its type. Its grant portfolio also is ranked second in the School of Medicine, behind the research intensive Department of Medicine. This position will be housed in the EPH Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, which serves as the primary source of biostatistics expertise and collaboration at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.



Company Information: The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH) Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine, in conjunction with the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenbaum Cancer Center (UMGCC), is recruiting for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are seeking a researcher with a track record of multidisciplinary biostatistics research in cancer, as evidenced by productivity in collaborative and methodological publication, and successful grant funding. Special attention will be given to applicants with cancer research expertise. Those with a primary interest in cancer informatics and/or with data coordinating center expertise are also encouraged to apply.

Position Qualifications: Requirements: Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the statistical sciences currently holding the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
