Company Information: The Department of Biostatistics and Informatics and the University of Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) invite applications for a senior, tenure track faculty member to direct the Colorado Biostatistics Consortium (CBC) and Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) program of the CCTSI. The Department of Biostatistics includes 25 PhD level faculty members and offers PhD, MS and MPH degrees in biostatistics and participates in the PhD Programs in Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Bioinformatics, as well as MPH tracks in the CSPH and the various clinical sciences degrees offered on campus. The Department has major biostatistical methods research interests and funding in a range of topics including the design and monitoring of clinical trials, statistical genetics and genomics, longitudinal data, time series analysis, and Bayesian computational methods. The CCTSI, established in 2008 and funded by a $76 million NIH CTSA grant plus institutional funds, includes the BERD Core as a critical key function. The CCTSI constituents include the health profession schools/colleges on the AMC campus and the graduate school of UC Denver, six hospital and health care organization affiliates, faculty at University of Colorado Boulder and UC Denver at the downtown campus, and 20 community-academic partnerships. Its mission is to accelerate the translation of discoveries into practice, reduce health disparities and train the next generation of investigators. There are nearly 2,000 members of the CCTSI (http://cctsi.ucdenver.edu).

Position Title: Associate professor or Professor of Biostatistics; Director, Colorado Biostatistics Consortium and the CCTSI Biostatistics Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) program.

Duties & Responsibilities: The CBC/BERD Director will be a regular faculty member. The position has three key components: (1) to oversee, lead and develop the CBC and the CCTSI biostatistics program which includes established collaborative biostatistics infrastructure at UCD and affiliated institutions, (2) to mentor and develop faculty that are involved in collaborative biomedical research through the CBC/BERD, and (3) to be a senior faculty member with active participation in the Department’s biostatistical methods research and teaching programs.

Position Qualifications: This position requires a PhD/ScD in Biostatistics with demonstrated administrative ability to lead a group of collaborative biostatisticians, as well as to conduct biostatistics methods research and to teach graduate level biostatistics courses. Preference will be given to individuals who have previously led biostatistics groups, particularly those who have been involved in wide ranging translational research including involvement in a CTSA program.
