Research department, part of AT&T Labs, develops new analytic 
methods for massive data sets to learn about our customers, understand 
our products, and improve our operations.  We are a pioneer in big data 
technologies - leading our industry in developing novel methodology for 
fraud detection, customer profiling, statistical computing and

 Duties & Responsibilities: 
We are looking for people passionate about solving interesting 
real-world, applied problems from massive data sets.       Establish a 
robust research agenda in the analysis of large scale real world data 
sets. Expected to create novel, publishable results in the fields of 
Statistics, Machine Learning, or Computer Science with the potential to 
bring your novel methodologies into production in our business. 
 Position Qualifications: 
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Machine Learning, or other
 heavily quantitative and applied fields.    Experience with large data 
sets, and the tools to manipulate and analyze them, is a significant 
advantage.  Tell us about it in your research statement!    The ability 
to use software to build implementations of your ideas is crucial. We 
are specifically interested in candidates with proven research in 
statistical computing and/or applied spatial statistics. A non-exclusive
 list of other statistical fields we are interested in include: 
forecasting, time series, spatial statistics, social networks, machine 
learning, and Bayesian statistics.
