**Please note, this is a grant funded position ending on 2/28/2014. The Department of Epidemiology, Harvard School of Public Health, is conducting several large, longitudinal epidemiological studies of nutrition and nutrition-related markers of chronic disease health outcomes. The statistician will work with the senior statistician and other senior investigators to derive variables in SAS, clean data, perform analyses on large, complex datasets, produce tables and graphs in publication-quality form, and present results to senior investigators. Additional duties include training and assisting other students, post-docs, and research affiliates in the use of the analysis system, and also as a program reviewer and quality control checkpoint person for analyses others have conducted. Other duties as needed/assigned.
Requires related Master's degree in Biostatistics or Statistics with at least 2 years of full-time work experience. Knowledge of Cox proportional hazards analysis and longitudinal data analysis is desired. Knowledge of SAS, including SAS macro language, SAS graphics, and SAS Proc IML, is required. Excellent technical, computer, and analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently under supervision and as a part of a team.
