Convocar una beca de investigación en FIBAO, en régimen de concurrencia
competitiva, con cargo a los fondos del Proyecto de Investigación con nº de Expte. PI-0605-2010, “Evaluación Económica de la Atención de Pacientes con Síndrome
Coronario Agudo en Andalucía según el Tipo de Hospital al que se accede a partir de
Datos de ARIAM” en el Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves. Dicho proyecto
está financiado por la Consejería de Salud de la Junta de Andalucía
Requisitos de los solicitantes: Podrán solicitar este contrato quienes ostenten la
titulación de licenciado/a en estadística, matemáticas, economía o cualquier otra
titulación de la rama de ciencias de la vida.
Se valorará de forma positiva:
- Formación acreditada en metodología de la investigación
- Experiencia o formación en manejo de bases de datos y análisis estadístico.
- Experiencia o formación en análisis de datos económicos
- Manejo de paquetes estadísticos y software económico (SPSS, R, Treeage u
otros).
- Manejo de bases de datos (se valorará conocimiento en base de datos ARIAM)
- Publicaciones científicas.
- Participación en proyectos de investigación.

Research Associate, University of Sheffield, UK

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position at the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sheffield. The post is part of a large and innovative research project Managing Uncertainty in Complex Models involving researchers at four other universities in addition to Sheffield. The post holder will work on the extension of the original MUCM project, MUCM2. Background to the MUCM project and an outline description of MUCM2 can be found at www.mucm.ac.uk. The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of Dr Jeremy Oakley, on the development of Bayesian methods for the analysis of computer experiments. Specific research topics will include methods for stochastic models, heterogeneity in model outputs and model-informed decision making. 2 UNIVERSITY POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS IN STATISTICS en CAMBRIDGE

Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Statistics, to be held in the Statistical Laboratory. The Fellowships are available for three years, commencing on 1 September 2011. Appointment will be made at an appropriate point on the University's Postdoctoral Research Associate scale. The successful candidates will have a PhD and have demonstrated a capability to produce world class research. These Research Fellowships are associated with a major expansion of personnel and activities in core statistical methodology and its applications.

Applicants are required to include a research proposal of not more than 2 pages setting out their research aims and objectives. The Department of Statistics, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, announces the opening of one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning March 1, 2012. The Statistics and Bioinformatics Unit (UEB) is a platform of of the “Unitat de Serveis
Científico-Tècnics de Suport (UCTS)” at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute
(VHIR). Its mission is to offer support to biomedical researchers, mainly by providing
them with different types of “omics” data analysis such as microarrays or next
generation sequencing. The unit also offers consultancy and training in topics
related to bioinformatics or statistics. It's a dynamic and stimulating working
environment where you will be in contact with leading biomedical research.
We are looking for motivated people who can support scientific projects (it is not a
research position but a technical one), with high aptitudes and interest in learning
new concepts and techniques.

1 plaza de epidemiólogo/a o bioestadístico/a

Requirements:

Essential: MD or Ph.D. in epidemiology, or in biostatistics, or the equivalent.

Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in genetics.

Excellent knowledge of field-work skills in undertaking comprehensive subject recruitment for epidemiological studies
Good working knowledge of statistical methods with a particular focus on data arising from genetic and molecular epidemiology studies
Familiarity with protocols for collecting and processing tumour and non-tumour normal tissue for subsequent pathological classification is required given that patient characterization may include comprehensive histological classification
Good publication record in relevant research area;
Ability to draft reports
Proven ability to write grant applications
Some knowledge of patient recruitment procedures for studies participating in the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) or the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) would be desirable

Experience:

Essential: At least five years of relevant professional experience at the national level or two years at the international level, including some experience in epidemiological data collection, coordination of multipartner studies and networks, statistical analysis of genetic data, and in the use of relevant genetic databases (e.g. Ensembl, Hapmap etc).

Desirable: Experience of international multicenter studies. Some supervisory experience.



Languages:

Very good knowledge of English with a working knowledge of French.

Biostatistician en Estados Unidos

Job Description Supports the Biostatistics Team by providing analysis and interpretation of study datasets, providing statistical consultation during all phases of a study. Develops program code for manipulation and analysis of study datasets, including graphics and tables for the presentation / reporting of clinical data using SAS and/or other statistical packages.
1. Develops statistical methods and programs, analyzes data, and writes statistical reports to achieve objectives within given timelines. 2. Advises on the design of titration, pilot, and pivotal efficacy studies, pilot and pivotal target animal safety studies. 3. Designs, implements, and tests programs for statistical analysis of assigned studies. Develops tables and graphs for inclusion into statistical reports, safety reports, Final Study Reports, presentation slides, and publications. 4. Supports the development and maintenance of the library of SAS (Base, STAT, Graph, ODS) and other statistical programs. Develops and maintains a repository of statistical literature. 5. Understands and proactively utilizes knowledge of pertinent local and/or international Regula-tory Requirements, and may participate in or lead interactions with local Regulatory Agencies under the guidance of more experienced Biostatisticians. 6. Attends working groups, conferences, and technical meetings. 7. Collaborates with other associates to facilitate knowledge exchange. 8. Assists in the preparation SOPs related to job function. 9. Works following external and internal guidelines (e.g. SOP’s, GxP, HSE, AW).
