Description

The Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech ( www.cs.vt.edu) invites applications from candidates in data-intensive computing for a full-time tenure-track position at any rank. Examples of research foci in the area of data-intensive computing include, but are not limited to, streaming and sensor data management, scientific databases, networked data management, query languages, workflow/provenance modeling, information integration, and database designs for modern architectures such as the cloud and pervasive appliances. The successful candidate must be able to conduct an active research program in the management and processing of massive data, such as arise in social networks, biology, GIS, astronomy, text, and/or other emerging large-scale applications.
