Research Associate in Epidemiology in the Imperial College

We have a vacancy for a Research Associate in Epidemiology to work in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the School of Public Health. This exciting post will form part of a team of support and research staff with a particular focus on the COMBI-BIO (COMBInatorialBIOmarkers) project, recently awarded funding by the European Union FP7 Programme. COMBI-BIO is a €3million, multi-partner, international study, aiming to discover novel biomarkers for subclinical atherosclerosis using the latest in metabolic phenotyping and advanced statistical techniques. The study is led by Professor Paul Elliott, Head of Department and the Principal Investigator for COMBI-BIO.

The post holder will focus on bringing together data from epidemiological studies, harmonising data across studies, epidemiological analysis including discovery of novel biomarkers and development of novel risk scores for atherosclerosis, and management of large databases.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or a related discipline or equivalent research experience.
This post is full time and fixed term for one year in the first instance to commence as soon as possible, and will be based at the St Mary’s Campus, Paddington.
