About ENSAE and CREST
The École Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Économique (ENSAE) is a leading French Higher Education Institution in the fields of Economics, Statistics and Finance. ENSAE is a founder member of Paris Institute of Technology, a cluster of some of France’s most prestigious “Grandes Écoles”. ENSAE’s research is conducted within CREST, the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics.
ENSAE and CREST are in the process of moving to the “Plateau de Saclay” campus, in the south of Paris. This is France’s most ambitious academic development project. This center will gather the École Polytechnique, HEC and several other leading Grandes Écoles, as well as the University of Paris Orsay (Paris-Sud XI). Together with these institutions, ENSAE and CREST will build a leading European center in Economics, Management, Applied Mathematics and Finance.
Job Description
ENSAE calls for applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Statistics/Mathematics, starting in September 2011.
Applicant profile:
· Applicants must have completed their PhD by September 2011
· Publications (or strong potential of publications) in academic journals of international standing
·Teaching experience
Knowledge of French is not required but valued.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· To teach at Master’s level (two 20-hour courses)·To supervise student academic projects
· To participate in ENSAE’s continuous effort to update its academic programs ·To participate in CREST’s research activities (seminars, workshops, reading groups) Terms and application
Level of appointment and salary will be determined according to previous experience (approximately 40,000 up to 70,000 euros per year net of social contributions, for candidates with a strong research record).
Tenure decision is made after 3 to 6 years.
