Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform computational statistics, data mining, and statistical modeling
with applications in biostatistics and bioinformatics. The postdoctoral
fellow will work under the supervision of Professor Kim-Anh Do in
conjunction with another faculty. The primary research focus will be on
collaborative cancer projects that may require sophisticated statistical
methodology and/or developing statistical and computational methodology
for the analysis of complex data, including novel high-dimensional,
high-throughput genomic and proteomic data, imaging data, and functional
data.
Position Qualifications:
We seek a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. degree in statistics,
biostatistics, computer science/engineering, or a related quantitative
field. Candidates must have strong methodology training in
statistics/biostatistics; strong programming skills, in particular
R/S-PLUS or Matlab; and interest in collaborative research and
methodology research. Interest in bioinformatics and/or computational
biology is a plus. Experience and skills in the following areas are
desirable: analysis of high-dimensional bioinformatics data, graphical
models, statistical computation, medical research applications, and
additional programming skills in a lower level language such as C/C++ or
Fortran and/or interactive object-oriented extensible programming
languages such as Python or Java.
Salary Range:
$65,000 US
