Statistician

Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be based in our Austin, TX office and will provide statistical expertise to multi-disciplinary project teams supporting DoD and DHS biological and chemical threat detection programs. Work will involve the development and implementation of data evaluation approaches to address customer questions; this will include developing and running programs in R and/or SAS to perform statistical tests, generate data summaries, and produce graphical data displays. The successful candidate will also be responsible for working with project team members to interpret and present data evaluation results via reports and briefings.

Position Qualifications: M.S. in Statistics or related field is required, and at least five years of demonstrated experience as an applied statistician is desired. Fundamental understanding and experience with statistical methods (including ANOVA, sampling design, categorical data analysis, multivariate data analysis, regression techniques and statistical process control) is required. Proficiency in R, SAS, S-PLUS, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is required. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and to interact effectively with individuals on multi-disciplinary teams. This position requires that the candidate be willing and able to complete a successful background screening for a security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with degree and experience.
