Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the department chair, the
Lecturer position requires teaching and service responsibilities as well
as at least a master’s degree. The position centers on strengthening
the department’s undergraduate course offerings and will include a
workload of 15 hours per semester in core curriculum courses, consisting
of contact hours in the classroom and additional service associated
with student success in the core curriculum. The successful candidate
will also possess a commitment to innovative methods of instruction and
professional development in the area of teaching. The position is a
9-month non-tenure-track appointment and the salary is competitive and
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
* At least an earned Master’s degree in statistics or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in statistics by August 1, 2015.
* Evidence of a strong commitment to undergraduate education.
* Demonstrated effectiveness in instruction in statistics or the mathematical sciences.
* A minimum of 2 years of at least part-time college/university teaching experience.
* Good command of written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Necessary academic qualifications to teach introductory courses in statistics in the core curriculum.
* A minimum of 2 years full-time college/university teaching experience.
