Research Associate – Medical Statistician / Health Economist. University Glasgow

The purpose of this post is to conduct, present and publish research in the disciplines of medical statistics, health economics and health technology assessment. In particular, you will work on a series of statistical analyses on existing funded projects on the epidemiology/burden of alcoholic liver disease in Scotland and the evaluation of population-level health interventions in conjunction with NHS Health Scotland.


A good first degree in statistics or economics or a health related discipline and  a PhD or postgraduate qualification in medical statistics or health economics or a related discipline are essential.
You will have an up to date knowledge of research within subject related area and possess several years’ research experience. You will undertake multivariable statistical analyses independently (e.g. generalised linear models, Cox regression, multi-level modelling).

Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate complex material clearly, coupled with good writing and presentation skills are pre-requisites.
