Statistician. Edinburgh & Glasgow, UK

We are currently seeking applications for C1 Statisticians in various locations around Edinburgh and Glasgow. The posts are situated across a range of Directorates within the Scottish Government.
Our statisticians work across a wide range of areas and cover many different topics; including Scotland’s economy and employment levels; the health of our nation and the NHS; Educational attainment; Justice; Communities and Transport. The statistical service in the Scottish Government provides an accurate, up to date and comprehensive picture of the economy and society to inform policy making across central government. We also work closely with a large number of other organisations both to manage and improve data collections as well as enhancing the use of evidence and statistics.


Salary: C1 Grade £44,174 - £53,121

Qualifications & Experience Required
To allow for a satisfactory knowledge of the statistical techniques required for these posts, candidates must hold a first or second class honours degree in a statistical or strong numerate discipline. The successful candidates must also be able to provide demonstrable evidence of their skills and experience across the essential criteria that are listed in the Person Specification.
This is a permanent and pensionable appointment. New entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the minimum essential criteria for the appointment will be invited to the assessment centre.
