The
Influenza and Emerging Respiratory Pathogens team of the British Columbia
Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) is offering an exciting opportunity for
qualified Master’s level or PhD trained Epidemiologists to apply to this highly
productive team. We are also seeking a post-doctoral fellow for shorter
term (one-year), project-specific hire.

) the Influenza and Emerging Respiratory Pathogens team of the BC CDC is
responsible for surveillance, research and policy development related to
emerging and re-emerging respiratory pathogens.
Under the
leadership of Dr. Danuta Skowronski, the team has been very successful in
routine and rapid response research and the translation of evidence to inform
policy and program initiatives.
Potential
candidates should have strong methodological, quantitative analytical and
critical appraisal skills required for original research and literature review.
They should be enthusiastic and energetic about surveillance and science, with
strong communication abilities and a public health perspective on disease
surveillance, prevention and control. As part of a fast-paced team working on
cutting edge issues, the applicant is committed to broad and rapid dissemination
of surveillance and research findings through bulletins, peer-reviewed
publications and presentations.
